Job summary

IES is seeking a Residential Electrical Helper in McAllen, TX to assist with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems onsite. You will support project execution by reviewing plans, diagnosing issues, and ensuring safety and compliance with codes.

The role requires basic knowledge of electrical systems, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or with teams. Travel to job sites is expected as needed and punctual attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and operational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on electrical systems and equipment.
• Review project plans, specifications, and work orders to support project execution.
• Support diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Coordinate with employees, vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding project activities and operational needs.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to electrical work and project activities.
• Support project timelines and assist with resolving operational concerns in the field.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and job site conditions to support operational efficiency and safety.
• Assist senior technicians and support field operations as needed.
• Maintain professionalism and effective communication throughout all customer and operational interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
