Job summary

United Cerebral Palsy Heartland seeks compassionate Residential Direct Care Professionals for the Saint Louis area in Missouri. This Part-Time DSP role offers $21 per hour and requires weekend shifts, with 16 hours weekly (Sunday 7am-3pm, Monday 7am-3pm) in Oakville.

You will support individuals with daily activities, personal care, and safe lifts and transfers, adhering to medical orders and providing engaging activities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Clean driving record and completion of driver training.
• Must work at least one weekend shift.
• Experience helping individuals with disabilities or in customer service.
• Ability to take direction with minimal supervision.

16Hours Weekly (LT/E)

As a DSP (Direct Care Provider)you will perform the following responsibilities:

Provide physical assistance with daily tasks, assist with personal hygiene and facilitate fun activities.

Follow medical orders and administer medications.

Assist with ADL's, Lift and Transfer (includes ceiling lifts, repositioning in wheelchair, etc), Adaptive Transportation.

Most importantly,provide choices to the clients for their daily activities to provide entertainment and community outings.

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Clean Driving Record and successfully completes and maintains assigned drivers training
• A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEKEND SHIFT PER WEEKEND
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or in a customer service field
• Ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently work in a professional, cooperative manner with all Agency clients and personnel.
• Ability to interact with client's family often
• Good written and oral communication skills
