Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Hope Mills, NC, is hiring for a CDL truck driver to run local residential routes. You’ll operate side-loaders, rear-loaders, and automated trucks, collect waste and recyclables, and be the face of our service to the community.

Daytime, full-time hours with safety as a priority. You’ll perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, work with helpers and supervisors, and help keep neighborhoods clean and Green.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with clean driving record.
• 1+ years of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to safely navigate residential routes and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Commitment to local traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Professional, customer-focused demeanor when interacting with residents.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential collection vehicles on local routes.
• Collect solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste per route sheets.
• Provide courteous service and maintain route quality.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

What You’ll Do

• Master Neighborhood Routes: Safely operate residential collection vehicles (side-loaders, rear-loaders, and automated trucks) to service neighborhoods across Hope Mills.

• Keep Communities Green: Efficiently collect solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste according to daily route sheets.

• Be the Face of GFL: Provide courteous, professional service to residents and uphold route quality standards.

• Prioritize Safety: Perform required daily pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is safe and road-ready.

• Work as a Team: Coordinate closely with helpers, mechanics, and supervisors to keep your route running smoothly and safely.

What We’re Looking For

• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

• Experience: 1+ years of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school.

• Physical Readiness: Ability to maneuver in and out of the cab, handle outdoor conditions, and manage physical aspects of residential collection.

• Safety First Mindset: Strong commitment to local traffic laws, company safety procedures, and defensive driving.

• Customer Service Attitude: Professional demeanor with a positive, helpful attitude when interacting with local residents.

• Primary Location: Hope Mills, NC (Local residential routes, full-time hours, daytime schedule)
