The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Residential Director to lead Whitten Regional Center's Residential Services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This role provides strategic oversight, ensures regulatory compliance with ICF-IID standards, manages staffing and budgets, supervises DSMs/QIDPs, and partners with families to promote safety and meaningful supports.

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Facility Administrator. This position plans, implements, administers, and directs Residential services at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID).
The position for this posting is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A bachelor's degree and leadership experience in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) and/or in another type of highly regulated, licensed residential environment.
Ability to make occasional weekend and/or after‑hour visits to the residential units to ensure safety and compliance for the facility.
Leadership and/or management experience in the field of intellectual and related disabilities with supervisory experience in the area of Residential Services for an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF‑IID). Strong motivational, coaching and teaching skills. Ability to effectively prioritize & manage multiple tasks and wide‑ranging responsibilities. Sound decision making skills with effective written & oral communications. Sensitivity to the special needs of persons with developmental disabilities and/or related disabilities and their families. Sensitivity to employee's issues and ability to facilitate a team‑oriented service process.
Knowledge of an agency's mission, programs, and objectives. Knowledge of management principles. Knowledge of an agency's organizational structure, the people who manage the work, and the processes applicable to government work. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Ability to make presentations and prepare reports.

If this position requires the applicant to work directly with consumers of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
