Job summary

The Arc Ontario in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join our Residential Team. You will assist with daily living activities, personal care, and planned community outings, helping individuals grow in a safe, supportive home environment.

This role includes evening, night, and weekend shifts, with a pay rate of $18.50–$19.70 per hour and a $1.00 differential for nights and weekends. Benefits include health and retirement plans, PTO, sick time, and educational assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; one year of related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• If driving is required, valid NYS driver's license and safe driving record for at least one year.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, instruction, and training to individuals to develop skills in daily living, including communication, social, recreational and leisure activities, self or personal care, household management, travel, work-related or vocational opportunities, money management, per individualized plan and safety considerations.
• Provide training opportunities to enhance each person’s self-sufficiency in independent living.
• Promote agency mission, vision, and values.
