Job summary

Harvard University Dining Services (HUDS) seeks an Assistant Manager for Residential Dining to lead a team, deliver an extraordinary hospitality experience, and oversee the dining operation including catering where applicable.

The role reports to the Unit or General Manager and requires an Associates or Bachelors in Hospitality Management, 2–3 years of related food service management, and ServSafe certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Two to three years of related food service management experience.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead non-exempt workforce and manage a residential dining operation.
• Ensure policies related to food quality, sanitation and safety are followed.
• Monitor inventory and cost control using FoodPro and conduct weekly audits.
• Provide outstanding customer service and accommodate diverse dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and space, report repairs and ensure cleanliness.
• Oversee Kronos timekeeping, schedule staff and ensure timely payroll processing.
