Job summary

Wisconsin Building Supply, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks a Residential Designer to prepare detailed drawings for residential roof and floor systems and related material layouts. You will work with engineers, homeowners, architects and contractors to finalize designs and pricing, ensuring compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in civil, architectural or design related field may be required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Designs residential construction drawings, including roof and floor systems and produces layouts.
• Discusses changes and corrections with engineers, homeowners, architects and contractors prior to and during construction.
• Presents, sells and follows-up on new jobs.
• Prepares residential layouts.
• Performs job site inspections.
• Determines special notes to append contracts.
• Resolves architectural and design discrepancies.
• Assists in the shipping department.
• Complies with attendance policy and maintains regular attendance.
• Performs other duties as necessary.
• Read and understand blueprints and detailed technical drawings.
• Use computer or other technical equipment to provide a technically accurate layout (takeoff) of customer order.
• Adhere to local building codes and material constraints when developing material list and design layout.
• Produce final copies for contractor use for bathrooms, kitchens, decks, patios and others as assigned.
• Assist customers with accurate, timely and thorough customer service.
• Measure and scale projects on-site.
• Attend training as required to maintain current knowledge.
