Job summary

Wisconsin Building Supply, a division of US LBM Holdings, is seeking a Residential Designer in Wisconsin. You will design residential construction drawings, including roof and floor systems, and produce layouts for pricing and fabrication.

Collaborate with engineers, homeowners, architects and contractors to resolve changes and ensure code compliance. The role requires drafting experience, strong technical writing, and proficiency with AUTOCAD; you will read blueprints, prepare material lists,

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree in civil, architectural or design related field may be required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
• 1 year of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required.

Responsibilities

• Designs residential construction drawings, including roof and floor systems and produces layouts.
• Discusses changes and corrections with engineers, homeowners, architects and contractors prior to and during construction.
• Presents, sells and follows-up on new jobs.
• Prepares residential layouts.
• Performs job site inspections.
• Determines special notes to append contracts.
• Resolves architectural and design discrepancies.
• Assists in the shipping department.
• Read and understand blueprints and detailed technical drawings.
• Use computer or other technical equipment to provide a technically accurate layout (takeoff) of customer order.
