Job summary

Heartland Family Service is seeking a Residential Navigator to provide direct support and supervision at the Crisis Stabilization and Resource Center. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, stabilization, and client-centered supervision within a collaborative clinical team.

Responsibilities include implementing stabilization plans, promoting emotional regulation, and guiding clients toward short-term stabilization goals while maintaining safety and professional boundaries on site.

Qualifications

• Two years direct care experience in human service field; two years of training in human service field OR a Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, sociology or related human service field which is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing supervision and support to clients in the stabilization unit
• Develop supportive, professional relationships with clients and respond to their needs during scheduled shifts
• Assist in implementing individualized stabilization plans in collaboration with clinical staff
• Support clients in developing and practicing coping skills, emotional regulation, and crisis management strategies
• Facilitate and/or assist with psychoeducational groups and skill-building activities
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Monitor client behavior, safety, and overall well-being throughout shift
• Communicate client progress, concerns, and observations to clinical team and incoming staff during shift changes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with program and regulatory standards

Education

Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology or related human service field
