Job summary

Acenda, Inc. is seeking a Residential Counselor in Glassboro, NJ to provide direct counseling and support to adults in a residential setting.

You will supervise daily living activities, assist with treatment goals, and facilitate therapeutic groups to promote emotional well-being and independence. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services (preferred) or a related credential with relevant experience; a valid driver’s license is required; strong documentation in EHR systems is

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred; or high school diploma/GED with 2+ years of direct care experience in mental health or residential setting.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and using EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling and support to residents to promote emotional well-being, independence, and community reintegration.
• Supervise residents with daily living activities and household responsibilities in a safe environment.
• Support residents in identifying and working toward individualized treatment goals.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and structured activities to enhance coping skills and readiness for community reintegration.
• Document resident progress and service needs; maintain confidentiality and comply with standards.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration.
