Job summary

MHM Services, a Centurion company, seeks Residential Counselor for the California Department of State Hospitals-Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT). You will provide community-based services, conduct skills groups, and support clients’ psychological stabilization and community placement.

You’ll educate individuals, assist with access to services, and help with documentation and medication monitoring in a supervised 24-hour setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of mental health experience.
• CPR certification preferred.
• California driver’s license with good driving record and valid auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured skills-based groups to improve coping skills (time mgmt, goal setting, stress management, etc.).
• Provide psychoeducation for clients, including those deemed incompetent to stand trial.
• Assist clients with connecting to community services (Medical, Medicare, insurance, volunteering, school).
• Support documentation, medication management, and monitoring of clients.

The FACT program is a statewide system that provides an unlocked, supervised living environment with 24-hour staffing. FACT's model of care is centralized services with a slow transition to community-based services.Under the direction of the Fact Program Director, the Residential Counselor provides community-based services and monitoring for FACT clients to include judicially committed individuals and mentally disordered offenders.
