Job summary

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate Part Time Residential Counselor to support residents in the Service Planning Unit and CR-SRO programs. You will work with the Housing Coordinator to provide services and help residents pursue community participation and personal recovery.

The role emphasizes peer support, independent living skills, and adherence to NYS background checks and licensing requirements, with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• Personal or shared experience with mental illness and/or substance use issues.
• Understanding of peer support and self-help philosophy.
• Valid NYS driver's license; fingerprinting and background checks may be required.

Job description

RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate & dedicated Part Time Residential Counselor to join our team.

In this role, you will assist the Housing Coordinator with providing services to individuals who temporarily reside in the Service Planning Unit and CR-SRO residents in their pursuit in becoming active, valued members in the community.

Requirements

Personal or shared experience with mental Illness and/or substance abuse issues. Ability and desire to assist others in mastery of independent living skills and the personal recovery process . Understanding of peer support, self-help philosophy. Clean, valid NY State Driver’s License. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, approval from NYS Office of Mental He alth.
