Job summary

Acenda Integrated Health in New Jersey seeks a Residential Counselor for our Adult Residential Program. You will ensure resident safety, provide supportive care, and work with a team to implement individualized rehabilitation goals.

The role focuses on direct clinical services, coordination with therapists and teachers, and fostering a structured, therapeutic environment to promote recovery and independence for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; four years of related mental health experience.
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in mental health, psychology, social work, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services including screening, brief interventions, and referrals.
• Coordinate treatment with therapists, psychiatry, case management and other providers.
• Support case review processes and school needs assessments for students and families.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; monitor progress and outcomes.
• Establish positive resident relationships and support daily living activities.
• Lead group activities and therapeutic programs to promote skills and community integration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress, incidents, and observations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including residential supervisor, nurse and director.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in mental health or related field
