Job summary

Green Chimneys is seeking a Residential Counselor to maintain the structure of the day-to-day therapeutic milieu for children and adolescents, using nurturance, routine, and recreation as core tools.

The role involves helping with room care and laundry, checking in after school, and engaging residents in activities such as games and farm-based experiences. Attendance includes weekends and evening shifts in a 24/7 setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation.
• TCI training within two months of hire (training includes kneeling, standing, lifting and moving; a written test).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the day-to-day therapeutic milieu with nurturance, routine and recreation.
• Assist with room care and laundry; check in with students after school.
• Engage residents in activities such as cards, board games, basketball, and farm visits.
• Serve as a key member within the Residential Department and support residents with affection, structure and guidance.
