Job summary

Acenda Integrated Health in Cape May Court House, NJ, seeks a full-time Residential Counselor to support the Adult Residential Program. You will help ensure safety and promote a supportive environment, collaborating with nurses, supervisors and directors.

Base pay starts at $18.50 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour for Spanish proficiency. The role requires a high school diploma and experience in mental health, with opportunities for growth and benefits from Acenda.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, fostering a supportive and caring environment.
• Provide assistance and guidance to residents in daily living activities, including personal care, meal planning, and household chores.
• Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well‑being of residents.
• Facilitate group activities and therapeutic programs that promote skill development, socialization, and community integration.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents' progress, incidents, and any significant observations.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including residential supervisor, nurse, director, and medical professionals.

Job Overview

Our Residential Service Program offers a continuum of housing for the acutely and chronically mentally ill with supervised residences. Our purpose is to help those suffering from severe mental illness to live in the least restrictive setting that is compatible with their level of functioning. As a Residential Counselor in our Adult Residential Program, you will provide for the safety and security of adult clients within the residential setting by promoting a healthful and supportive environment. You will work closely with the residential nurse, supervisor and director in the implementation of adult individualized rehabilitation treatment goals.

Shift Schedule

• Sundays 4pm-12am
• Monday-Thursday 2pm-10pm
• Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm
• Wednesday-Friday 4pm-12am
• Thursday-Saturday 4pm-12am
• Sunday & Monday 8am-4pm
• Thursday & Friday 12am-8am
• Saturday-Monday 4pm-12am

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum requirement is a High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years related mental health experience.
• Professionalism and a commitment to excellence in care.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Preferred: preferred is a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a mental health, health or other appropriate human services related discipline with knowledge of and experience with the chronic mentally ill adult population.

Additional Information

• Base Pay: $18.50
• Bilingual Rate: An additional $1.50 hourly rate added to the base pay if Spanish proficient.
