Job Description

We are seeking a competent, bachelor-level professional to deliver behavioral health care services to clients residing in the community and their homes, in collaboration with trained providers. The counselor will provide training and support in skills development, medication management, work readiness activities, case management, and service coordination for clients experiencing significant disturbances in daily living due to severe and persistent mental illness.

The role involves recruiting, training, and monitoring care provided by therapeutic foster care providers, interacting regularly with providers regarding client issues, and ensuring proper documentation. The counselor will assess client needs, complete required documentation, coordinate with collateral care providers, advocate for clients, and provide individual therapeutic rehabilitation, illness management, recovery support, and, as needed, family interventions. Additionally, the counselor will conduct crisis assessments, provide termination planning, and deliver medication and psychosocial education. The counselor will respond to on-call pager services and facilitate quarterly provider meetings, transportation, and recreational activities for clients. As a member of the clinical treatment team, the counselor performs other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation, psychology, or criminal justice from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Alternatively, possession of an RN license is acceptable in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a community-based behavioral health setting.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean three-year driving record for the state of residence.

Salary

$19.91 per hour.
