Job summary

Open Sky Community Services, located in Massachusetts, seeks a Residential Counselor for our Respite Programs to support adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders in a group living setting. You’ll help develop skills for independent living and provide evidence-based treatment in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.

The role emphasizes reliability, openness to learning, and collaboration with the team. An additional hourly differential is possible in qualifying positions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.
• Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
• Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
• Review and complete all required documentation.

Job Description:Open Sky's Respite Programs are short-term group living environments that provide treatment of intermittent crisis and stabilization for adults who are diagnosed with a mental health and/or substance use disorder. The goal of the Respite program is to work collaboratively with individuals to develop skills to maintain their independence in the community and live a life that is not defined by their mental illness.The Residential Counselor supports individuals to live as independently as possible, while providing evidence-based treatment and care, within a group living environment. Counselors act as strong advocates for individuals served and understand the importance of community integration.Other Key Responsibilities:Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.Review and complete all required documentation.The organization recognizes skills, location, training and population served in certain programs by offering an additional hourly differential.
