The role emphasizes person-first planning, crisis intervention, coordination with the clinical team, and compassionate, person-centered services. A bachelor’s degree in a helping field or equivalent experience plus CPRP or driver’s license are required.

The Residential Counselor is responsible to provide behavioral health rehabilitation services and supports that is necessary to assist the service recipient in achieving recovery goals in various life goals such as social, employment, educational, and/or housing domains. Services are provided that improve skills, self-esteem and a sense of belonging to the larger community. The Community Support Services Counselor maintains a wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using person-first language, and person-centered rehabilitation planning and evidenced based practices to service recipients who meet the eligibility criteria to receive community support services.
