Job summary

Ettie Lee Youth And Family Services is seeking a Residential Counselor for their Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) at Diamond L Ranch in Bloomington, CA. The position is full-time in a 24/7 residential setting with responsibilities including support for clients, documenting progress, and ensuring safety.

Position Title

Residential Counselor – Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP)

Location

Diamond L Ranch – Bloomington, CA 92316 (program sites: Fontana and Redlands, CA)

Job Type

Full Time, 24/7 residential setting with swing shift (overnight). Shift schedule between Sundays–Wednesdays or Wednesdays–Saturdays; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily living environment of the home and support clients in school.
• Work closely with therapists under the coordination of administrators and the program manager.
• Help residents manage responses to traumatic stress that result in behaviors such as running away, fighting, substance use and non-compliance.
• Provide daily leisure and recreation activities.
• Ensure medical and dental needs are met.
• Prepare and distribute meals and assist with clothing shopping.
• Document client progress.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment.

Qualifications

• Have a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree; or a valid Child Development Teaching Permit; or completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, or Foster and Kinship Care Education and have at least 100 hours of experience working with youth; or have a valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have at least 100 hours of experience working with youth; or have previously been employed as staff or volunteer at a group home or short‑term residential therapeutic center for at least one year.

Requirements

• Pass criminal/fingerprinting background check, TB test, physical exam and drug test.
• Have a valid California Driver’s License, minimum five years of driving experience and a DMV record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier.
• Be 21 years or older.
