Job summary

Volunteers of America Texas in Hutchins, TX is seeking a Corrections Monitor Supervisor to lead the residential program operations in accordance with VOA Texas and FBOP policies. The role requires a minimum high school diploma with 2 years in correctional or halfway house settings, plus strong record-keeping and discipline skills; a valid Texas driver license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum 2 years’ experience in working in a correctional or halfway house facility.
• Requires a demonstrated ability in record keeping and ability to monitor residents and use positive discipline methods.
• Valid Texas Driver License, clear MVR and the ability to be insured.

Responsibilities

• Manage residential program operations in accordance with VOA Texas and FBOP policies and procedures.
• Manage the Re-Entry Monitors and Client monitoring.
• Assign shift duties to Residential Re-Entry staff.
• Maintain chronological written records of events that occur during the shift.
• Monitor client movements inside and outside the facility.
• Control contraband in facility through general observation, facility searches, and client searches.
• Observe client behavior and report to the Lead RRM or supervisor in a timely manner any situations that are irregular or exceptional.
• Oversee client care in compliance with standards of ethics.
• Oversee medication procedures to ensure audits are accurate and medications are taken as prescribed.
• Oversee urinalysis/breathalyzer procedures and search procedures to ensure compliance per contractual agreement.
• Supervise residents in observance of house rules and policies.
• Provide support to clients and serve in the on-call rotation.
