Job summary

Windstar Homes is seeking an experienced Residential Construction Manager to lead the build of high-quality custom homes from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in residential construction, organization, and clear communication with homeowners and subcontractors.

You will manage daily on-site activities, coordinate crews, review plans, monitor schedules and quality, conduct site inspections, and maintain precise project documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience building custom homes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
• Strong scheduling and project coordination skills.
• Florida Building Code knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction of custom homes from start to finish.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and construction professionals.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules to keep projects on track.
• Review plans, specifications, selections, and project documents for accuracy.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure adherence to quality standards and codes.
• Conduct job-site inspections and resolve construction issues.
• Coordinate inspections with local building officials as needed.
• Manage material deliveries to keep the schedule on track.
• Communicate progress and issues with subcontractors and the Windstar Homes team.
• Maintain accurate construction documentation including schedules and punch lists.
• Oversee punch-list completion and ensure homes meet quality standards.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites; enforce safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day construction of custom homes from start to finish.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
• Develop and maintain construction schedules, keeping projects on track.
• Review plans, specifications, selections, and project documents to ensure work is completed accurately.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure construction meets Windstar Homes' quality standards, project specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Conduct job-site inspections and proactively identify and resolve construction issues.
• Coordinate inspections and work with local building officials as needed.
• Manage material deliveries and availability to keep the construction schedule on track.
• Communicate regularly with subcontractors, vendors, and the Windstar Homes team regarding project progress and issues.
• Maintain accurate construction documentation, including schedules, change orders, inspections, and punch lists.
• Oversee punch-list completion and ensure homes meet Windstar Homes' quality standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors while holding them accountable to schedule and quality expectations.
• Represent Windstar Homes professionally throughout the building process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in residential construction.
• Minimum 3 years of experience building custom homes.
• Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to completion.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes; Florida Building Code experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project coordination.
• Excellent organizational, time-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, and the Windstar Homes team.
• Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
