Job summary

The Cleary Company seeks a Residential Construction Estimator to own the estimating process for design-build remodeling projects. You will visit job sites, work with trade partners and vendors, and develop budgets before construction begins.

This is not desk-only; joint collaboration with Design, Development, and Production teams is required. The role involves early project involvement, site visits, and close collaboration across teams to ensure accurate scoping and pricing for successful

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of residential construction and how projects are built.
• Ability to read plans and identify missing information and cost implications.
• Enjoys working with numbers and people.
• Able to communicate with designers, developers, field teams, trade partners, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary budget ranges during design.
• Prepare detailed estimates for design agreements and construction contracts.
• Review plans and site conditions to identify cost concerns early.
• Visit project sites to understand conditions and requirements.
• Solicit and compare pricing from trade partners and vendors.
• Ensure bids reflect intended scope of work.
• Maintain current pricing and use historical data to improve accuracy.
• Collaborate with Design, Development, and Production in preconstruction.
• Participate in project meetings with estimating and field info.
• Build relationships with trade partners and vendors.
• Stay updated on materials, pricing and industry trends.
