SAFEbuilt in Houston, TX is seeking a Combination Building Inspector to perform field inspections of residential, commercial, and public facilities. You will review plans and calculations to ensure adherence to building codes and clearly communicate findings to contractors and the public, collaborating with a team that supports diverse project types.

The role requires extensive knowledge of local codes, field interpretation of codes, and the ability to manage multiple inspections with accuracy.

Qualificações

• Interprets codes in the field to provide code compliant solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced atmosphere.
• Familiarity with different editions of the International Building Codes.

Responsabilidades

• Performs daily field inspections of residential, commercial and public facility construction projects.
• Interacts with the public and explains technical information to both technically and non-technically trained individuals.
• Reviews residential and commercial plans and engineering calculations for building components to ensure code compliance.
• Provides recommendations regarding interpretations of City, State, Federal, and Construction standards.
• Maintains accurate records to document inspections and testing results.
• Maintains computer logs of inspection reports, entering inspection results into permitting software.
• Perform other related duties as required.
