Job summary

VisionQuest (VQ) is a national child, youth, and family services organization providing residential programming, community-based services, and in-home support across the United States. The Child Care Worker role supports children in residential settings, ensuring safety, learning, and positive behavior management under state and federal guidelines.

The position requires 21+ years, background checks, CPR/First Aid and CPI certification, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or equivalent.
• Training in CPR/First Aid and CPI certification required within 180 days of employment.
• Must pass background checks and maintain safety and health compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of children in care and maintain line of sight at all times.
• Oversee recreation, meals, and transitional activities; model trauma-informed care.
• Assist with planning educational events, acculturation activities, and school drop-offs/pick-ups.
• Administer medications as appropriate and document progress and health.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free facility and report maintenance needs.
• Assist in emergencies and support evacuation procedures as needed.
