Job summary

Community Counseling Center seeks a Behavioral Health Technician for the Lou Masterman Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. The role supports adults with chronic mental health diagnoses in a seven-bed IRTS program, focusing on safety, daily living skills, coping strategies, and team collaboration.

You will work varied shifts in evenings and overnights, with duties including transportation, medication safety, and thorough documentation to support client care. Training provided; PSLF eligible employer.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; driver’s license and auto insurance proof required.
• License specifics: MO Class E; Class D for IL residents may apply.
• Must meet CCC motor vehicle record standards and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Create a stable, trauma-informed environment that helps clients feel safe and understood.
• Guide clients in routines like hygiene, meals, and medication organization to build confidence.
• Support clients in learning coping skills, emotional regulation, and stress reduction.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and fellow BHTs to keep treatment plans on track.
• Perform room checks and monitor the facility to ensure safety and security.
• Transport clients in CCC's 15-passenger van to appointments and activities.
• Distribute medications securely, document accurately, and report discrepancies.
