Job summary

Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support client safety and well-being, assist with skill-building, and participate in groups and activities. You will help maintain a therapeutic environment and respond to crises according to policy.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, preference for 2 years in healthcare or related fields, and MO Class E driver’s license with proof of auto insurance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/HSE required.
• Prefer 2+ years in healthcare or mental health or an undergraduate degree.
• Must hold MO Class E Driver's License and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to clients promoting safety and a therapeutic environment.
• Promote daily living activities and self-care tasks.
• Teach living skills and behavior management per treatment plan.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate client care.
• Document observations and conduct checks per policy.
• Transport clients to appointments as needed and monitor emergencies.
• Distribute medications and report any errors per protocol.
