Job Summary

Turning Point, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Program Manager to join our team. The role involves supporting the Program Manager in providing supervision and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injury living in group residences. The Assistant Program Manager ensures the safety and human rights of residents and helps implement Individual Service Plans (ISP) strategies.

Newburyport, MA

Salary:

$21-$22/hr plus sign-on bonus

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Program Manager in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring residents' safety and human rights in licensed residential settings.
  2. Ensure staff adherence to agency philosophy, ISP goals, and documentation responsibilities.
  3. Support individuals with daily activities, including hygiene, chores, shopping, and community engagement.
  4. Help plan menus, follow dietary restrictions, and oversee food shopping.
  5. Assist with transportation to medical and other appointments.
  6. Follow behavior plans, collect data, and model interventions.
  7. Complete timely documentation such as logs, incident reports, and MAP documentation.
  8. Support operational policies and staff training, including onboarding new employees.
  9. Engage positively with residents, families, guardians, and staff.
  10. Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  11. Maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, MAP, and PABC.
  12. Manage medication supplies and collaborate with medical staff.
  13. Oversee financial procedures, including cash handling and meeting residents' financial needs.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
Requirements
  1. High school diploma or G.E.D.; associate degree or ongoing education preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of direct support experience with developmentally disabled or brain injury populations.
  3. Knowledge of behavior plans and support strategies.
  4. Leadership experience and relevant certifications (First Aid, CPR, MAP, Human Rights, PABC).
  5. Background checks including CORI, driving record, and fingerprinting.
  6. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and squat.
  7. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a van.
