Job Summary
Turning Point, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Program Manager to join our team. The role involves supporting the Program Manager in overseeing the care of individuals with developmental disabilities and/or traumatic brain injuries in group residences. The Assistant Program Manager ensures safety, upholds Human Rights, and implements Individual Service Plans (ISP).
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment and ensuring the Human Rights and safety of individuals in licensed residential settings.
- Ensure staff adherence to agency philosophy, ISP goals, and documentation requirements.
- Support individuals with daily activities including hygiene, chores, cooking, shopping, and community engagement.
- Assist in planning menus, ensuring dietary needs are met, and oversee food shopping.
- Help coordinate transportation for medical and other appointments.
- Follow behavior plans, maintain data collection, and support staff in executing interventions.
- Complete documentation promptly, including logs, incident reports, and other required forms.
- Lead staff in following operational policies and procedures.
- Assist in interviewing and training new staff members.
- Engage positively with individuals, families, guardians, and team members.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications, as well as MAP and PABC as applicable.
- Manage medication administration and medical needs in collaboration with the Program Nurse.
- Oversee financial transactions, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Coordinator.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.; Associate's degree or pursuing degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years' direct support experience in residential settings or related fields.
- Knowledge of behavior plans for developmentally disabled and/or brain injury individuals.
- Prior leadership or staff training experience is desirable.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, MAP, Human Rights Advocacy, and PABC (as required).
- Ability to pass background checks and screenings.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including standing, walking, lifting, and turning.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a 4-6 passenger van.
