Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services operates a residential facility in Pacoima and seeks an Assistant Counselor for the Residential Department. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work varied hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Associates Degree in Human Services or related field; a minimum of 1 year experience preferred.
• AOD registration required for all Residential Counselors; willing to obtain within 30 days.
• First Aid, CPR certification required within 30 days if not already certified.
• Knowledge of HIPAA policies and related regulations for residential programs.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and clinical databases.

Responsabilités

• Assist with client residential services and respond to emergencies.
• Facilitate client activity groups for adults in Via Avanta programs.
• Monitor daily activity schedules and submit participation reports.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
• Support 24-hour coverage including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Document client medications and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct intake screenings and file client charts for adult programs.
• Arrange client transportation to appointments and services.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs and report safety issues.
• Pursue ongoing training in substance use prevention and counseling techniques.
• Attend agency meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
