Job summary

Alpharus Health is hiring a Residential Assistant for Springfield, IL, to support adults in a substance abuse treatment program. You will monitor clients, provide motivational guidance, coordinate transportation, and assist with treatment plan implementation on a residential unit.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least 6 months of related training, and a valid driver's license. Prior experience with the program's population is preferred, with a focus on respectful,

Responsibilities

• Monitor, observe, and ensure the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program.

Location: Springfield Residential - 2200 Lake Victoria Dr, Springfield, IL 62703

• Residential Center - Adult Male and Female population

Residential Assistants are responsible for:

• Monitoring, observing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program
• Providing motivational and educational support and guidance to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Minimum of 6 months of training or equivalent knowledge of substance abuse treatment theory and practice

• Must be able to respectfully interact with substance abuse clients and form a working therapeutic alliance

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients
• Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide support
• Ability to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basis
• Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises
• Ability to drive an automobile or van and remain alert to traffic conditions, and to identify and comply with traffic signals and signs

Compensation (based on experience):

• $15.62 - $20.30 per hour
• Starting rates are determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills.
• Alpharus Health conducts annual performance reviews, with merit increase eligibility determined by employee performance and organizational financial performance.
