Job summary

Homes by Dickerson is seeking an Architectural Drafter to support the design team in producing precise construction documents for residential projects in Raleigh, NC. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to translate concepts into actionable drawings that meet standards and codes.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of AutoCAD experience, familiarity with Chief Architect or other BIM tools, and a degree (Assoc. or B.S.).

Qualifications

Minimum an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
1–2 years minimum experience producing working drawings for residential construction in AutoCAD.
Familiarity with Chief Architect and/or other 3D BIM software is a plus.
Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

Produce precise, detailed technical drawings including dimensions, elevations, sections, and construction details.
Assemble and organize lot-specific drawing sets for project clarity.
Ensure accuracy and meet project timelines and standards.
Apply design improvements and value-engineering principles considering structural requirements.
Incorporate field verifications and resolve field-related issues within base plan libraries.
Collaborate with purchasing team to refine takeoff procedures and processes.
Perform additional duties to support the project team and ensure design consistency.
