Lars Remodeling & Design in San Diego is seeking a Residential Architect. Cornerstone duties include collaborating on designs, producing construction documents, and coordinating with consultants. This full-time, office-based role requires strong design skills, regulatory coordination, and client-facing presentation ability.

Salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 per year based on experience; California licensing is a plus. Office location is in San Diego with standard Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in residential design.
• Licensed Architect preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques.
• Strong organizational skills across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project consultants, interior designers, estimators, product specialists, and PMs on designs, drawings, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with consultants and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
• Resolve design problems with creative solutions.
• Produce 2D/3D drawings, renderings, and construction drawings.
• Assist in managing client expectations and team communication.
• Meet with clients to understand project objectives and present options.
• Delegate workload to junior designers and drafters.
• Support project manager with construction administration.

Job Description

Lars Remodeling & Design, an award-winning home remodeling company in San Diego specializing in residential remodels and new home construction, is seeking a Residential Architect, preferably a California Licensed Architect to join our growing team of professionals. This is a full-time, office-based position. No telecommuting. No consulting. Please do not apply if you are unable to work in our San Diego office.

Candidates will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Collaborate with the team of Project Consultants, Interior Designers, Estimators, Product Specialists, Estimators and Construction Project Managers on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, construction documents and production/construction.


• Coordinate with consultants and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.


• Resolve design problems with creative design solutions.


• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings and construction drawings.


• As part of the professional team, assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination from the perspective of an architectural expert.


• Meet with clients to better understand project objective.


• Ability to present conceptual design options to client.


• Delegate and manage Junior Residential Designers' and Drafters' workload and calendars.


• Assist Project Manager with construction administration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in residential design.


• Licensed Architect is a plus.


• Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve individually and with the project team.


• Proficient on AutoCAD and Revit.


• Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes.


• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
