Lee & Cates Surface CPR is the paint, coatings, waterproofing, and exterior cleaning division of Lee & Cates Glass. Lee & Cates Glass is a 99 year old locally, family owned, and operated company focused on residential and commercial glass and glazing. Lee & Cates Glass and Lee & Cates Surface CPR has a footprint from southeast Georgia down to central Florida.

Position Summary:

This position functions as a painter, performing skilled work. Operate hand and power tools as well as swing stages and lifts; and load/unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks. May provide on-site guidance to others.

  • Able to read and comprehend, and write correspondence. Able to communicate with staff, management, customers, and


vendors via phone, text, email, and letters/memos. Able to direct others and give clear instructions; Able to complete forms; Maintain project notes, records and log books.

  • Have extensive knowledge of painting products, materials, supplies, and equipment used on a regular basis.
  • Ensure staff is following Company and OSHA safety guidelines; check safety conditions on job sites.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment and jobsites to verify quality work is completed and up to industry standards.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.


Experience/Education /Competencies:

3-5 years experience on commercial painting projects

Working knowledge of paint products and materials regularly used on commercial projects

Common knowledge of procedures and equipment, including lift certification and spray skills.

Some customer service experience and small job planning is required.

Ability and willingness to train Apprentices.

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Pass Company background check, including a felony and misdemeanor check and drug test

Possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license is preferred

Use interpersonal skills; focus on solving problems and conflict; keep emotions under control

Use oral and written communication to receive instructions and ask questions; complete Company forms

Understand teamwork; contribute to building a positive team spirit and put success of team above own interests

Have balance, stamina, strength and the ability to work rapidly at heights; able to climb ladders; not afraid of heights

Supervisory Responsibility:

This job has no direct reports, but has responsibility to assign/train/direct others on painting projects.

Work Environment:

The employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places; fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts; and outside weather conditions including extreme heat and humidity. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and cold weather conditions. The noise level is usually loud.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb

ladders and balance; work at heights; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision required by this job includes distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
