Job summary

CAMBA is hiring a Residential Aide in Brooklyn, NY. The role reports to the Program Manager and supports housing services under the Short Term Housing Program.

Responsibilities include security rounds, incident reporting, and coordinating with supervisors. Full-time position (35 hours/week) with a benefits package including health and dental insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and holidays.

• Sufficient education and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic math for maintenance tasks and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 9 security rounds per shift.
• Accurately log security and fire logs daily.
• Prepare timely incident reports as incidents occur.
• Submit incident reports for review within 24 hours.
• Verify daily staff in/out and complete shift exchanges.
• Attend staff meeting at least quarterly.
• Address negative client behavior and report to supervisors.
• Contact supervisors for NYPD/EMS/FDNY involvement as needed.
• Maintain client confidentiality and professional relations.
• Practice universal precautions and respond professionally to emergencies.
• Update staff with logs, notes, or meetings.

Short Term HousingProgram:

CAMBA’s Short Term Housing Program (STHP) provides 35 units of congregate and transitional housing to PLWHA who are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness. There are 7 clients residing at CAMBA’s congregate facility located at 27 Winthrop Street and 28 clients living in community apartments (15 families and 16 singles). Program staff will ensure that all apartments are near public transportation and accessible to other amenities such as health care, shopping, laundry, and other necessary services.STHP housing program provides a model of service that addresses the interrelated problems of HIV and homelessness. Through a congregate residence at 27 Winthrop, and the apartments in the community, we provide transitional housing, case management support, and housing readiness training in a supportive environment, which will help clients develop the skills to find and maintain permanent, stable housing.

What does theResidential Aidedo:

• TheResidential Aidewill be responsible for:

• Conduct at least 9 security rounds per shift.

• Complete all security and fire logs accurately daily.

• Complete timely comprehensive and accurate incident reports for all incidents in the facility as they happened.

• Submitall incident reports for review and alert the supervisor so they can review and submit to the funder within 24 hours.

• Complete shift exchanged shifts accurately by verifying who is in and out of the facility daily.

• Attend at least on staff meeting quarterly.

• Will address allnegative client behaviorandreport to supervisors upon occurrence.

• Contact supervisors anytime there is a need to involved NYPD, EMS and/or FDNY.

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.

• Practice universal precautions.

• Respond to emergencies in an appropriate and professional manner.

• Update staff via written logs, notes, face-to-face meetings, etc.

• Participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.

• Observe and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.

• Control pedestrian access and traffic inside facilities to maintain order and security of people and property.

• Warn violators of rule infractions (such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and, under direction, requests violators to leave thepremises.

• Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.

Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

• Sufficient education and technical expertise to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); basic math to accomplish maintenance tasks and to document accomplished tasks.

Minimum Experiences and Skills Required:

• Goodwritten & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Basic computerskills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Security GuradCertificatepreferred.

$18.54 hourly
