Job summary

Community Health Resources (CHR) seeks a Residential Aide for Roots to Recovery in Willimantic. This full-time role (40 hours/week) runs Fri–Tue 3:00PM–11:30PM, supporting residents with daily living skills and treatment plan activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining the environment, monitoring medications, and coordinating with staff to ensure safety and adherence to program standards. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Human Services background.
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Training: CPR & First Aid required or obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain environment and program standards per CHR/DMHAS/JCAHO/licensing.
• Monitor residents' medications per policy.
• Assist residents with rehab topics: nutrition, budgeting, home care skills.
• Prepare and facilitate groups and 1:1 interventions.
• Document in accordance with agency standards.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Roots to Recovery

Roots to Recovery: A Holistic Approach to Substance Use Treatment (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment for men in need of a structured environment to continue building upon their recovery skills. R2R is located in Willimantic. There are 14 beds and it is a 90 day maximum intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment program. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff and/or detox programs. Clients with co-occurring disorders and on Methadone maintenance are accepted. Clients cannot work during their stay but can start looking for work 3 weeks prior to program completion.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Residential Aide

• Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard
• Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
• Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to transfer information to other staff regarding the day’s events
• Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including: nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
• Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor
• Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
• Collaborates and coordinate care with providers and families as needed.
• Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
• Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
• Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
• Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.

Training: CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.

COMPENSATION*:

$19.28/hour minimum- $27.98/hour maximum*

*Actual rates within this range are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
