Description

Adjunct Faculty - Medical Assisting Lab

Rasmussen University

In this course, students will develop skills in injections, phlebotomy, vital signs, immunizations, lab functions, CPR, patient care techniques, and laboratory coding.

Reporting Relationships: Adjunct Faculty report to an Academic Dean.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with students regarding performance and provide feedback.
  • Be available for student support via phone, email, and appointments.
  • Respond to Dean/University staff promptly regarding performance and student concerns.
  • Maintain professional behavior, language, and attire at all times.

Key Accountabilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Teaching Effectiveness: Use effective teaching strategies, create engaging learning environments, and organize class sessions efficiently.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Demonstrate mastery and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Student and University Support: Support students and collaborate with the Dean.
  • Faculty Meetings and Responsibilities: Attend meetings and events as scheduled.
  • Professional Development: Complete required educational units annually.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' teaching or field experience preferred.
  • Clinical preceptor experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, team-oriented, with strong communication skills.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Assisting or related healthcare field.
  • Relevant certifications (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, LPN, RN) with experience.
  • Must provide proof of licenses, certifications, and transcripts.
