Job summary

Talbert House in Cincinnati is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Counselor to provide individual and group counseling for clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions under clinical supervision, with a focus on recovery, relapse prevention, and family involvement.

The ideal candidate holds a current Ohio LSW or LPC license (LISW/LPCC accepted) and has 2–5 years of clinical counseling experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Current Ohio LSW or LPC license required; LISW or LPCC accepted.
• 2–5 years of clinical counseling experience preferred.
• Experience with substance use, addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions preferred.
• Ability to work with youth and adults; strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance use and co-occurring concerns.
• Develop treatment plans, conduct assessments, and provide clinical interventions under supervision.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and use electronic health records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams and involve family when appropriate.
• Support recovery-oriented goals, relapse prevention, and client engagement.
