Job summary

Focused Post Acute Care Partners seeks an Activity Director to develop a holistic wellness program for residents, covering physical, cognitive, spiritual, and social wellbeing. The role emphasizes engagement with residents, families, and staff to enhance quality of life.

The position requires Texas licensure eligibility and ability to complete mandatory certifications, with responsibilities including event scheduling, budget stewardship, and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Qualified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or Activities Professional licensed in Texas and eligible for certification.
• At least 2 years in a social or recreational program, with 1 year in healthcare activities.
• Completion of an Activity Director training course or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
• Annual education requirements per licensure/certification.
• English language comprehension and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advocates daily on behalf of all residents to protect their rights.
• Reports abuse, neglect, or exploitation per state guidelines.
• Maintains professional boundaries with residents and the care team.
• Completes Activity Evaluations for new admissions within 14 days.
• Schedules multi-dimensional programs and coordinates with other departments.
• Recruits volunteers, conducts background checks, and provides orientation.
