Job summary

John Knox Village is seeking a Transportation Operator to drive a bus or sedan providing resident transportation. You will work under supervision with a dispatcher and Public Safety leadership, and complete required training to support PRIDE values.

Responsibilities include safe transport, assisting passengers, vehicle maintenance checks, and ensuring accurate documentation. Candidates must meet MO license and DOT health requirements and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Prior commercial driving experience preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and geometry concepts.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
• Ability to work under stress and maintain professional conduct.
• Adheres to safety regulations and requirements.
• Interact with individuals with challenged mental capacities if needed.

Responsibilities

• Drives bus to transport passengers according to schedule and prioritizes safety.
• Assist passengers entering/exiting and with baggage.
• Regulates heating, lighting and ventilation for passenger comfort.
• Complies with traffic laws and safety precautions.
• Reports delays, accidents, and traffic violations.
• Inspects vehicle and maintains fuel and fluid levels.
• Loads/unloads baggage; transports luggage and wheelchair.
• Makes up to travel via sedan or bus most of the day.
• Keeps vehicle clean inside and out.
• Provides excellent customer service and listening skills.
• Follows safety regulations and workplace rules.
• Maintains professional conduct and handles workplace stress.
• Performs other assigned responsibilities as needed.
