Elevate Charter Schools’ Booker T. Washington Academy Elementary School in New Haven, CT seeks a committed Resident Teacher to join grades K–4. This full-time residency role supports instruction, co-teaching, and gradual classroom leadership under expert mentors.

You will learn through coaching, build relationships with scholars, and pursue teacher certification through RELAY. Ideal candidates are reflective, eager to grow, and committed to urban education excellence.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Connecticut substitute teaching certification or eligibility on hire.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with middle school scholars.
• Interest in pursuing teaching via our Resident Teacher Pathway Program.
• Ability to build rapport quickly.

Aufgaben

• Deliver standards-aligned lessons with coaching feedback.
• Lead small-group interventions and pull-out sessions.
• Establish routines and restorative practices to foster a safe learning environment.
• Co-plan and co-teach with grade-level teams.
• Participate in weekly PLCs and coaching cycles.
• Serve as substitute coverage and support other roles as needed.
