Serve as a resident teacher while participating in a year-long clinical experience under the guidance of a mentor teacher. Observe and learn on the job in preparation for a teaching career while earning a degree or completing teacher certification requirements. Work alongside assigned mentor teachers and actively engage in as many elements of the classroom as possible. Participate in instructional planning, data review, and improvement throughout the year.
Education/Certification:
Enrolled in education preparation program, working towards a teaching certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subject matter of classroom assignment
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated effectiveness working with people who have differing cultural backgrounds and/or personal characteristics
Strong work ethic, open to feedback, with willingness to implement next steps, and a belief that all students can achieve
