Queens Centers for Progress is seeking Direct Support Professionals for our Residential programs in New York. You will provide safety and support, show respect for each individual's personality and strengths, and help them achieve goals through person-centered care.

Responsibilities include daily living support, transportation, personal care, and engaging activities. A NY driver's license is required; HS diploma or GED is needed. Benefits and a $500 sign-on bonus are offered.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED or higher required.
• Ability to write daily entries about the individual's services.
• Prior human service experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

• Provide safety and support to individuals in residential settings.
• Promote a person-first approach by respecting preferences and strengths.
• Protect health, safety, and emotional well-being of individuals.
• Work with individuals to help them achieve their goals.
• Engage in conversations, instruction, arts and crafts, and activities with individuals.
• Transport individuals to day programs, medical appointments, and community outings in agency vehicles as needed.
• Assist with personal hygiene needs.
• Perform housekeeping tasks as required.
• Teach independent living skills while making activities enjoyable.
