Job summary

Touchstone Mental Health is hiring a Resident Support Specialist in Minneapolis to support clients across three supportive housing programs. The role involves establishing supportive relationships, monitoring health symptoms, providing medication assistance as unlicensed personnel under nursing supervision, and promoting social participation.

The position requires flexibility for weekend, overnight, or on-call shifts, and the ability to work at any of our Minneapolis locations on short notice;

Qualifications

• Observe residents for changes in health symptoms; perform behavioral management interventions; and de-escalate mental health crises.
• Establish supportive and motivational relationships with residents.
• Previous experience supporting adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and/or long-term homelessness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes supportive and motivational relationships with residents.
• Observe residents for changes in health symptoms; perform behavioral management interventions; and de-escalate mental health crises.
• Perform delegated nursing services, including medication assistance, as unlicensed personnel under the direction of the nursing staff.
• Promote participation in community activities; and provide support and prompts that encourage socialization.
• Support the cleanliness of common areas and bedrooms and complete housekeeping duties.
• Ensure residents and their guests are following site guidelines to ensure the facility is safe and secure.
• Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns and/or volunteers.

Starting Pay: $20.00

Location: Minneapolis

Schedule A: Weekend Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 4:00pm to 12:30am

Schedule B: Overnight Schedule: Sundays through Thursdays, 11:55pm to 8:30am

Schedule C: On-Call Schedule: Shifts are 4:00pm to 12:30am or 11:55pm to 8:30am

TMH’s Resident Support Specialist provides support to clients in our three supportive housing programs, all of which are located in Minneapolis, on short notice.

Resident Support Specialist Responsibilities:

• Ability to work from 4:00pm to 12:30am OR from 11:55pm to 8:30am
• Previous experience supporting adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and/or long-term homelessness preferred
