Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with resident service staff to assure the appropriateness of the programs and services provided to clients
  • Provide outreach services to clients and coordinates activities/services for HOPE VI sites.
  • Establishes and reviews Memorandums of Agreements with service providers.
  • Meets with community organization to discuss partnerships to provide services to residents.
  • Gathers data and compile reports. Enrolls completes and terminate clients.
  • Monitor program expenses and process check request.
  • Monitor and track grant programs to ensure implementation of grant goals and expenditures of grant funds.
  • Attend resident council meetings; review audits of resident council participation fund expenditures.
  • Identify services providers and establish MOU's at housing sites as needed.
  • Conduct resident needs assessment and monitor the retention of data in the data system.
  • Identify grants for resident programs; completes grant application requirements
  • Provide grant program report and status of program goals.
  • Track and monitor community service activity for those residents that are required to perform community service.
  • Assures the satisfaction of customers in quality and responsiveness of services.
Knowledge and Skills for Success

A successful Resident Services Coordinator has…

  • Understanding of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of HUD and DHA programs, grants and services standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of community programs and services.
  • Knowledge of personnel rules and budgeting systems.
  • Skill in assessing individual needs.
  • Knowledge of the principles of records management.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to access individuals needs and provide alternatives to meet those needs.
  • Skill prioritizing multiple tasks
  • Skill in establishing relationships with community service providers.
  • Proficiency in utilizing a variety of business office equipment and software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Services or a related field
  • Five (5) years of social work or community services experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
