After School Program Leader

Summary

Eden Housing is committed to creating communities and changing lives through affordable housing. We serve lower income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, aiming to develop true home environments and improve residents' quality of life. Our green initiatives focus on energy efficiency, including solar panels and environmental education for our staff. We value hardworking, innovative, and passionate individuals to join our team.

Responsibilities
  1. Supervise youth during after school hours.
  2. Teach and promote computer skills to children aged 6-12.
  3. Communicate with property management, resident services staff, and contracted service providers.
  4. Network with local agencies to develop youth programs.
  5. Promote the program within the community and local schools.
  6. Collaborate with elementary schools and communicate with teachers about student progress.
  7. Organize meetings/workshops for parents on youth concerns and educational engagement.
  8. Report concerns about family and child wellbeing; maintain records of attendance and progress.
  9. Assist with crisis intervention and follow-up.
  10. Report abuse and neglect according to state law.
  11. Manage program budgets with the Resident Services Manager.
  12. Maintain cleanliness of program areas.
  13. Participate in meetings, training, and program evaluations.
  14. Collect and report program data accurately and timely.
Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED, or 2 years related experience. Training in tutoring, mentoring, or teaching is preferred.

Skills: Experience working with children and families, computer literacy, good communication, decision-making, and cultural competency.

Certificates and Licenses

Valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and insurance are required.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to interpret documents, write reports, speak effectively, and perform basic math. Second language skills are a plus.

Physical & Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, sit, speak, hear, and use hands. The work environment is moderate noise.
