Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing patient care tasks in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Effective 12/1/11, all new hires must have a BSN or a Master's degree in Nursing. Current/valid State of New Jersey license or legal permission to work in New Jersey is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Computer skills, keyboard proficiency, and knowledge of medical terminology are required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Physical and cognitive requirements include a full range of body motions such as assisting patients physically, stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. The role is classified as Very Heavy Work according to USDOL standards, involving exerting over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Follow NIOSH guidelines, which recommend that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance. Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, effective communication skills, and the ability to perform under stress are essential. The role involves considerable walking, standing, sitting, reaching, filing, typing, and photocopying. Ability to work accurately, pay attention to details, and adapt to changing priorities and stressful situations is necessary. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary health team and effective time management are also required.
