Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc is seeking a Resident Project Representative or Construction Inspector for oversight and inspection of horizontal and vertical utility and infrastructure projects in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. The role offers growth through collaboration with a team of professional engineers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction, 2+ years of relevant experience, and strong inspection, documentation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with horizontal water/sewer/drain, and sewer pump stations and related mechanical work preferred.
• Survey and design engineering experience is a plus.
• AutoCAD experience a plus.
• Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures and administrative requirements.
• Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations.
• Excellent public relations, written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skills.
• Ability to prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipal officials, and residents.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents to identify contractor compliance.
• Confirm compliance of shop drawings; measure quantities; observe construction quality; prepare daily field records; report non-compliances.
• Review and evaluate contractor work schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with abutters, client, and engineers; report and document progress.
• Attend regular site meetings to anticipate work, problems, and conditions.
• Review and recommend contractor monthly payment estimates.
• Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
• Overtime may be required.

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Resident Project Representative or Construction Inspector for oversight and inspection of horizontal and vertical utility and infrastructure projects in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts. What you'll do:

• Review of contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.
• Confirm compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications; measure the quantities and observe quality of construction; prepare daily records of construction work; record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
• Review and evaluate Contractor's work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.
• The projects will require careful coordination with abutters and the client, contract administration and reporting, and coordination with engineers working in support.
• Attend regular site meetings to anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
• Review and recommend Contractor's monthly payment estimates.
• Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
• Some overtime may be required.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 based on experience.
