Hazen is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utilities projects located in Palm Beach County and Broward County. The employee in this position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Hazen engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Hazen projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities
- Review and interpret project demolition and work plans, specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewith
- Review and monitor project schedule, sequence of activities, and time extension claims
- Assist the multi-discipline engineering team in the resolution of request for information and claims
- Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection/testing firms
- Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applications
- May supervise and train Field Coordinators
- Assist and coordinate with project start-up activities
- Maintain construction related documentation
- Travel to various project sites within Palm Beach County and Broward County
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including shop drawing processing and maintenance of documentation, change orders.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant field construction experience, preferably in the water/wastewater/utility industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, Primavera, etc.)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing
- Capable of reviewing and implementing project design plans and technical specifications
- Must be capable of performing assigned office and/or field tasks without daily supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in a Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Building/Construction Science, or an Associate Degree in Engineering Science
- Engineer In Training (EIT) or Construction Manager In Training (CMIT - Construction Manager Certification Institute/CMCI) Certification
