Job summary

Cherokee Indian Hospital is seeking a dietary support staff member to prepare nutritionally balanced meals for residents in accordance with diet orders and posted menus. The role requires adherence to program requirements, dietary policies, and health guidelines, while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities include preparing meals for all meals, ensuring proper temperature and presentation, and assisting with inventory, ordering, and training as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in food production or restaurant services.
• Must hold a Serve Safe Certification or obtain one within the first year of employment.
• Knowledge of nutrition, sanitation, storage, serving and transportation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner according to menu and recipes.
• Ensure food quality, proper temperature, appearance and taste.
• Suggest menu or recipe changes to use leftovers.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in food prep areas.
• Assist with other duties as needed.
• Complete in-service classes and training.
• Follow directions from Cook supervisor or dietary manager.
• Ability to multi-task and supervise cook assistants.
