Job summary

Cypress Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a cook to prepare nutritious meals and supplements for residents, ensuring all nutritional standards and dietary restrictions are met. The role requires safe, sanitary handling and timely preparation within a team-based environment.

Responsibilities include supervising staff when the Director of Nutritional Services is absent, attending meetings, and participating in in-services as required.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, in a timely manner, nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for residents according to requirements.
• Performs duties in a safe and sanitary manner.
• The cook supervises staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.
